It's about that time again for an emerging designer feature on Mirrorcheck!
I recently interviewed jewelry designer Adrianne Smith of PinkVELVET Designs.
Unique, Bold, and Glamorous, PinkVELVET can be worn by any fashionable female.
Check the interview out below!

Q. What inspired you to become a jewelry designer?

I’ve always loved dressing up as a young girl and as a teen in high school. I would shop in thrift stores and vintage stores all the time just to find something different that no one else would be seen in. I love fashion, makeup, and the arts as a whole. So I figured I can design my own jewelry that no one would be seen in and decided to make it a business. I love being creative. So coming up with ideas for my jewelry line is so much fun especially seeing the final product.

Q. How long has PinkVELVET been a manifested dream?

About a year and a half.

Q. What makes PinkVELVET stand out from any other jewelry label?

We’re not just one “genre” of jewelry. Our pieces can be edgy and at the same time classy; Girly but at the same time glamorous. I’d like to think we have something for everyone.

Q. Do you think your jewelry is a reflection of your personal style?

Absolutely, 100%

Q. Looking at your most recent collection, chains seem to be the go to embellishment. What was the inspiration behind your current line?

Im inspired by a lot of different things…one being music and the artist behind the music. When I look at an artist or hear their music, I am inspired by how the music makes me feel. I’m also inspired by fashion. When I pass by a store and see a super hot outfit, I say to myself, I can make the perfect chain to go with that dress or top. I’m also inspired by people, just seeing people of all of nationalities and backgrounds, their culture, lifestyle and so on. It helps me to create jewelry that anyone would want to wear.

Q. Are fashion trends ever an influence on how you design your jewelry?

Somewhat. But I would say I’m more influenced by things that inspire me daily; walking out of the house, a train ride, walking past an uber fabulous girl on the street.

Q. Do you have any events or collaborations coming up?

I’m working on a few collaborations as we speak but I want to keep it on the low right now until things are final. But they are gonna be great!

Q. Where can we purchase PinkVELVET designs?

People can go to pinkvelvetdesigns.com, yannique.com (which is new and we’re so excited about), and The Wagon Boutique in Brooklyn, NY. We’re working on getting distribution in other boutiques and sites as well so stay tuned for that.

Fell in love with this editorial at first sight. It screams the perfect dapper "Fall Man".
Gentlemen take note and make it your own. I can definitely see my guys from The Blaquebook recreating these looks and adding the perfect touch of embellishments! (Especially the last pic)

::Blouse, Belt, and Necklace - Thrifted, Shoes - Steve Madden, Jeans - I don't remember!::

I have been extremely busy these last few weeks, and haven't really had the time OR a stable internet connection to blog. Anywho, I'm back and these pics are old! If you follow me on twitter you probably recognize the print in my shirt because I twitpic'd (?) it. Stepped out in this fit last Friday to a friend's farewell dinner. She's moving to LA to work and learn from one of the most talked about stylists on "The RZP"!! I'm sad to see her leave but I hope to visit her soon!

Be sure to follow me on Twitter @KrystleMii!!

::Cheetah Blouse-Mom's Vintage, Black Jumpsuit-F21, Assorted Accessories, Shoes-Aldo::

I think I have a major obsession with animal print.
It has definitely been a staple in at least four of my outfit posts to date.
...it never goes out of style, and when worn the right way,
animal print can give any ensemble pressure!

My animal inspired outfit features a Cheetah printed blouse, Tiger face medallion
necklace, and a Zebra head bracelet...yeah I'm wearing pieces inspired by three different animals,
but there is only one dominant; the others are subtle compliments.
Oh yeah for those who don't know, the plant in the pic above is an Elephant Ear plant.
How convenient for this post!

:: Romper-F21, Clogs-Steve Madden ::

When the Clog trend emerged, I was absolutely NOT a fan...and I'm still not sold on the idea.
I can totally remember having a black pair of clogs when I was maybe 13 years old.
But contrary to belief, there are cute versions of the clog that can be rocked!!!

Check these styles out!
