I know I always say this after a hiatus, BUT it's been a while. Since my last post, in September, I have started a new job, got a new Mac that I have not yet gotten used to, and most importantly
I have come closer to the launch of my very own online vintage store!

:: FNO @ BELK ::
Last night Belk brought FNO to Charlotte! For those who don't know, Belk is based in Charlotte, NC with over 300 stores located in 16 southern states. Belk carries amazing brands like Free People, BCBG MAXAZRIA, Marc Jacobs, and Michael Kors. It was a night of fashion and fun eats straight from Magnolia Bakery in NYC, candy from Dylan’s Candy Bar, and a sample size Frrrozen Hot Chocolate from Serendipity 3 (which was absolutely AMAZING).
QC Exclusive Fashion Editor, Erica Hanks presented very stylish Fall 2012 looks that any woman could easily wear! There are four trends that Belk has deemed fashionable for Fall 2012.
Mod Modern: Add a modern touch to a classic "mod" style shift or sheath dress
this fall by choosing different prints & patterns, and finalizing
the look with statement jewelry.
My Fair Lady: This is definitely the look of charm and class! A classic top with a
subtle printed pencil skirt and a dash of fur will make your look a hit this fall.
Town & Country: This is a look that is great for a day out. A nice blouse paired with a
faux fur vest, a great pair of denim jeans (and there are sooo many choices
for denim this fall), a great handbag, and a wine colored lip and you're all set!
Vivid: There's no doubt about it, color will tread it's way into fall. I'd stay shy of
neon colors and go for more muted/deeper hues.

::SEPTEMBER IS FASHION ::
Fall fashion excitement is under way and I want you guys to be
privy to two events that I will be attending in Charlotte!
On September 6th @ 6pm, Belk will bring the FNO 2012 party to Charlotte's SouthPark Mall. “Fashion’s Night Out is one of the many ways Belk will showcase this season’s hottest looks now arriving in our stores,” said Arlene Goldstein, vice-president of trend merchandising and fashion direction for Belk. “This season you will see four key Belk Style Statements: My Fair Lady, Town and Country, Mod Modern and Vivid. So this is a perfect time to update your wardrobe with fall’s best offerings and enjoy a festive atmosphere with a special Southern style that only Belk can bring.” There will be special treats to eat straight from NYC, a free gift to the first 100,
a free polish change at the Estée Lauder counter, & a presentation of fall style statements

On September 13th @ 6pm, Charlotte will celebrate style in it's own way with the
1st Annual STYLE NIGHT OUT presented by Effie Loukas, Just Fab.com, and Heels.com.
Over 30 local boutiques will come together to showcase their fall styles in a super chic runway show. It's all happening at the Morrison shopping center in SouthPark.
I will be helping out behind the scenes for this event, and I cannot wait!

:: PRINT ON PRINT IN PARIS ::
In the words of Audrey Hepburn..."Paris is always a good idea."

Even on a semi cloudy day Paris is still such a beautiful city! I took a Eurostar train to Paris
from London and had the time of my life! The amazing architecture, shopping, dining,
and night life had me smiling the entire time. Let me just say that shopping overseas was
insanely amazing. It's their season of "Summer Sales" and the sale dates are set by the government. Stores are offering sale items up to 70% off. Think of it as an American
Black Friday for a week long...pretty good, I know. :)

I had a great time overseas, but nothing can compare to the simple things about
the "States" that I love and missed so much while I was away. But with that, traveling opens
your eyes to other cultures, and I can't wait to see more of the world. Until next time, au revoir!

While in London, I celebrated my birthday!
Overlooking a breathtaking night view of the city, my friends and I enjoyed dinner at Paramount Restaurant. I had asparagus soup, lamb, and a trio of sorbet! It was beyond delicious.
I posted this photo to my Instagram account...
I had no idea that they were going to bring out a candle with my dessert.
My sneaky friends planned it all lol I love those girls to pieces! :)
After dinner we went to the Viewing Gallery, a cocktail and champagne bar located
above the restaurant. I opted for a mini shoot in the staircase leading up to the venue,
with this insane artwork behind me.
I wore a vintage beaded and sequined dress with black pumps and pearl accessories. This dress, like many other vintage pieces in my closet, has been just sitting and waiting for the
perfect night out. I'm happy that it had it's "first go 'round" in London.

visited London, England and Paris, France. I have so many photos that I would love to share

I had an amazing time sight seeing, shopping in Oxford Circus, and just walking the streets of London . It was exciting to see all of the preparations being made for the 2012 Olympic games. GO USA! Unfortunately, the weather kind of put a damper on my hopes of getting great shots of certain landmarks. It was cold and rainy so I settled for a boat tour of the city on the Thames River. So if you see any water droplets in the photos, that's why. In the picture below, I was very comfy in my jeans, thrifted oversized blouse, vintage Ked's, and Forever 21 scarf.
